Uros, Amantani: According to the Uros people legends, today an endangered ethnic group. Their past and present is a open book of a millenary culture. They have made a home amongst the reed banks at the National Reserve of Lake Titicaca. Here you will observe artificial reed platforms inhabited by this ancient ethnic group. It is surely one of the most original ways of life on earth. Some people think them artificial and acting for tourists. But in fact they are authentic, their culture is authentic, and the history of why they live amongst the reeds is fascinating.
Itinerary
Day
At 9am. Transfer to Puno main port. After a beautiful motor boat ride of 30 minutes we get to the National Reserve of Titicaca Lake, on the way amongst the reed banks native birds can be observed after, landing and stepping on this artificial reed platforms feels very much like a water bed, Actually you will observe a bunch of reed islands one next to the other, with houses and people on them, We visit two or three of the 30 islands. Rides on reed boats can be arranged with the local fishermen. After, return to Puno, arrival at 12.30 hours approximately
